Bought it last year at Focus on Imaging at the NEC, totally oblivious to the fact that we intended to move to Kent and would have to downsize! It is a Professional Series Simplex Plus with a 40" capacity and frankly, I've nowhere to set it up in this house! I only got the chance to use it twice before the move so it's virtually mint. I'm looking for offers around the £150 area. Anyone interested?

Buying Photoshop

I'd love to have the full version of Photoshop (I have Elements at the moment) but it is hideously expensive. Has anyone here gone down the student edition route? I have two kids at school but they are both at primary school - would they still qualify? Presumably some proof of eligability would be required. Failing this is there any other way a reduced price version can be obtained?

Sensor Cleaning

Sensor Cleaning
does anyone have any advise on cleaning the sensor on a Canon 30D
I've thought about investing in a Sensor loupe and Arctic Brush to have a go myself but looking at the test shot I did using a sheet of white card I have a build up of dust in one corner which possibly will need a wet clean which I am not sure about

Malling has agreed to submit 15 images taken on May 30/31st in the area bounded by Ham Street in the NE, Tenterden in the N, Rolvenden and Newenden in the NW, Pett in the SW and Camber in the SE. Dear all, I went to the zoo last weekend (remember that ultra sunny day?!!) I decided my skylight just wasn't cutting it so i thought a darker filter was needed so i put my circular polarising filter on. From this point on my exposure was really over exposed i was having to dial in upto 2 stops and this wasn't consistently working. Colour or Monochrome?

In a recent competition, I entered the monochrome version of this shot. The judge questioned why it had been entered as monochrome rather than colour. Personally I prefer the monochrome image, the colour one looks too much like what it is, ie a man dressed up. The monochrome one looks more menacing. What do you think? Colour or Black and White?

Slide masking

Last night at the club the inter club slide battle was marred in my opinion because one slide was marked down because it was masked so as to be off centre when projected. What do folk think of that? After the tea break the first slide shown was also off centre, the judge made disparaging comments about it and when the next slide was projected it was realised that the projector had been moved, the first slide had not been masked 'incorrectly'. I have been subscribed to this podcast via Itunes since it started. It really is superb and takes all the PS tools and applies them to real world scenarios. The downside is it's American but the guys are superb, worth getting and skipping to the tutorials.

I have a set of "Life Library of Photography" by Time Life Books.

They were printed in the 70's but much of the information is still relevant today.

There are 11 books in hard back, free to anyone who want them.

Due to pending house move I need to dispose of them ASAP.

Does anybody know if Port Lympne Wild Animal Park is a good location for photography? I'm looking for places where I can come with my bicycle or by train, so if people have ideas close to East Malling of something that is to do by train, let me know! I try to fill op my many free days... and I wan't to see everything before I go back to Holland! PS. I already went to Leybourne Park and I planned a visit to Leeds Castle (on the bike... I feel very brave! )

For the petrolheads out there and those who just like the engineering, Brands is a fantastic day out - in my experince its best on practice and qualifying days for the televised races such as A1GP or BTCC, because there are generally few or no crowds, you don't have to adopt territorial tendancies to get close to the action, the drivers have a wander, sometimes the paddocks are open and its nice and cheap to get in! Club weekends even better - pricewise and the owners/drivers are very proud ...

Judging and club nights!

Is there a quicker way to do judging ? Currently you have to sit for an hour or so listening to a judge giving a load of waffle to justify their fee, over pics that might or might not be all that great but as they are small prints in a large hall most of the members cant see them anyway…it just seems a rather mind numbing hour which would be far better spent letting the judge do his thing on his own, looking at the pics that could be on display for all to view and wander around places on those ...

Suddenly this afternoon, I am being bombarded (OK, that's a bit of an exaggeration) by Google based ads while I'm in the forum. Any particular reason why now? I've also had an ad coming up as a personal message, were't these blocked? I don't mind ads as such, they're how the site makes its money but being told I'm the 999 999th person to visit the site seems a bit of a stretch of the truth!
