does anyone have any advise on cleaning the sensor on a Canon 30D
I've thought about investing in a Sensor loupe and Arctic Brush to have a go myself but looking at the test shot I did using a sheet of white card I have a build up of dust in one corner which possibly will need a wet clean which I am not sure about

Explatation or advice needed on CPL/ Skylight filters please!

From this point on my exposure was really over exposed i was having to dial in upto 2 stops and this wasn't consistently working.

My apparently naive logic figured a higher the density filter would work. i switched back to the skylight and left it at 2 stops to check and as expected it was ...

Rob on the Parkwood forum has posted a message about losing his pictures when a hard drive broke down without a backup. I was wondering how many other people don't do backups and if you do what is your backup regieme.

I think I'm fairly comprehensive but I would appreciate any comments if I have missed anything.

1) I back up to an external hard drive. This is carried out automatically by a file syncronisation program which periodically syncronises the back up drive with selected folders ...

Hi,

Today I was in London...and really stupid, I forgot my SD-card in my laptop. So I went to Jessops to buy a backup card for in my wallet. If I ever forget my card again then I still have that one...

I asked for a 2gb card and the man in the store talked me into an 4gb card...He had a good story and the price was not a big difference, so I bought the 4gb.

Then he tried to sell me a lens (50mm?), I already have 2 lenses and I'm just a beginner, I'm doing this since november last ...

Hi all,

Well I've been taking photos, on and off for years, never that seriously though.

Last year (or maybe a bit further back) I bought a Fuji 9600, great camera, I've taken thousands of photos with it and enjoyed using it very much.

This year I thought it was time to upgrade to my first DSLR, so I bought a EOS450D. Lens-wise I got the 18-55mm kit lens, a Tamrom 70-300mm and a 50mm prime.

I must say I am a little dissapointed with the results. Perhaps I am expecting too much, ...
