1 Buying Photoshop on Thu Feb 05, 2009 11:38 pm

I'd love to have the full version of Photoshop (I have Elements at the moment) but it is hideously expensive. Has anyone here gone down the student edition route? I have two kids at school but they are both at primary school - would they still qualify? Presumably some proof of eligability would be required. Failing this is there any other way a reduced price version can be obtained?

What about Photoshop Elements 7? Camera World have it on their website(wwwcameraworld.co.uk)at £55 and in this week's AP they are offering the Windows version at £49.99. Mail order phone number is 0844 264 0664.

Hi Peter

My post is a bit old. I bought Elements 7.0 a while back as an upgrade to Elements 5. Having researched it I'm not sure that the extra functions I would use on the full version are worth the extra cost. The function I wanted most was layer masks and I can get round that in Elements using an adjustment layer (which does have a mask in Elements) linked to the layer I want to mask.

Colin, what about buying Elements 7 then upgrading that to CS4? I'm sure it's possible and that would only(!) cost about £250.
PS You talk about YOUR post being old!

Hi Peter

Where do you get £250 from? The upgrade from Elements 7 to CS4 is £540!
